Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your air fryer: Turn on your French door air fryer and set it to 360°F (182°C). Preheating helps achieve that crispy outer layer.
- Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken dry using paper towels. This helps the skin get crispy. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated.
- Optional step - Add herbs: If using fresh herbs, place them inside the cavity of the chicken.
- Place in the air fryer: Carefully place the chicken into the basket of the air fryer, breast side down. This helps keep it moist as it cooks.
- Cooking time: Air fry the chicken for about 30-40 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Flip it halfway through for even cooking.
- Rest before carving: Allow the chicken to rest for about 10 minutes before carving to retain its juices.

Notes
Always check the doneness of your chicken with a meat thermometer. Adjust cooking times accordingly based on the size of your chicken. Different brands of air fryers may require different cooking times due to variations in wattage and design.
